Everything renters usually ask before booking a self-drive EV with us — eligibility, documents, deposits, and what happens if something goes wrong.
The minimum age for self-drive rental is 25 years.
An International Driving Permit is required for all international license holders, except those holding a valid Nepali driving license. We accept only a physical, hard-copy IDP issued directly by the relevant licensing authority in your home country — for example, in the UK, this is issued by the appropriate UK department. Digital or online-issued IDPs are not accepted, regardless of the source.
To keep your handover quick and efficient, please send your documents — driving license, IDP (if applicable), and identification — in advance of your pickup date. International guests are asked to deposit their passport with us for the duration of the rental; Nepali citizens deposit their citizenship document.
A refundable security deposit of NPR 50,000 is required — payable either in cash or by blank check, at your preference. This deposit is separate from your rental fee: a booking priced at NPR 6,500 per day requires the NPR 50,000 deposit in addition to the NPR 6,500 rental charge. The full deposit is refunded provided the vehicle is returned without damage.
Yes — pickup and drop-off can be arranged at the airport or another location of your choice, rather than only at our office. An additional charge applies, based on the distance between your chosen pickup and drop-off points.
If a breakdown or low battery occurs due to a genuine vehicle issue, we arrange and cover towing at no cost to you. If it results from renter negligence — such as not charging the vehicle as advised — towing and any associated costs become the renter's responsibility.
Every vehicle in our fleet is fully insured. However, the renter is responsible for the first NPR 30,000 of any damage — this reflects our insurer's minimum claim threshold and the revenue lost while a vehicle is off the road for repair. For damage exceeding NPR 30,000, we file an insurance claim and deduct that NPR 30,000 from the payout; the renter is not liable beyond this amount, provided the incident is properly documented. In the event of an accident, please contact us immediately and remain at the scene — take photographs or video, and obtain a police report where applicable. This evidence is essential to a successful insurance claim. Should an incident go unreported or undocumented, full responsibility for the damage will rest with the renter.
